How can we Trust these Bible Predictions?

The Jews shall be scattered and persecuted.

The first one is Deuteronomy 28 v 64-66:

"And the Lord shall scatter you (Israel) among all people, from the one end of the earth even to the other. And among these nations you will find no ease, nor will the sole of your foot have rest. But the Lord will give you a trembling heart, and failing eyes and sorrow of mind And your life shall hang in doubt before you and you will have fear day and night."

Now this was written 3500 years ago and tells us that the Jews would be scattered all over the world, hated, persecuted and driven from country to country, just as happened to them. And if you've ever read about the Jews in the Nazi concentration camps, or seen the film Schindler's List, you will know what v 66 meant. The Jew's lives really did hang in doubt, every day – they didn't know if they would see it through to the end, as v 67 says, “In the morning they said 'Would God it were evening', and every evening they said 'Would God it were morning'”.

Deuteronomy 28 v 37 says “And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee

It says that they would become a byword among all nations. Interestingly, in nearly every major language in the world, the word “Jew” has been used as a term of contempt, and as someone who is mean.

Leviticus 26 v 33 - I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out the sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste” so this tells us that the land of Israel would lie desolate for years. And remarkably, when Moses wrote these words, it was a most unlikely thing to suggest. The land of Israel at that time was a prosperous, fertile land, described as one which flowed with milk and honey. Surely, one would imagine, even if the Jews were driven out of it, you would expect their conquerors to take full advantage of their pleasant land. But no. During the last 2000 years, much of the land of Israel became either barren dessert or swamps.
