D2. Jesus leads believers into the Battle of Armageddon

Look at Zechariah 14 v 3 - 5. It says:

3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle.
4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south.
5 Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, for the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the LORD my God will come, and all the saints with you.

This shows that when the Jews cry out for help to God, that God's answer will be to send Jesus and all the saints to battle against Gog and its allies. There will a huge earthquake which will completely split the Mount of Olives (just outside Jerusalem) in two, making a huge valley.

We get some further detail in Revelation 16 v 16 - 21.

16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.
17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!"
18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.
19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

The language in Revelation is often difficult to understand, but we can glean some knowledge from this passage.

It is suggested that the battle referred to in Zechariah will be the famous battle of Armageddon (v 16).

In v 18 we see reference to the almighty earthquake described in Zechariah, which will be accompanied by tremendous thunder, lightning and massive hailstones (v21). And the important point in v 19 is that the nations of Gog and its allies will fall. Israel will be saved.

The biggest earthquake in the world, ever… Seismologists have shown that the fault line running through Israel and under the Mount of Olives is connected to many other major fault lines, and some religious scholars have suggested that the earthquake at Armageddon will be so powerful that its effects will be felt all round the world!! So when this happens, everyone will know about it.
